Life Sciences BC Announces Participants and Mentors for Fourth Annual Investor Readiness Program

Life Sciences BC has unveiled the companies and mentors selected for its 2024 Investor Readiness Program (IRP). The program pairs small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) in British Columbia's life sciences sector with entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIRs) to help them become investor-ready. The mentors, with their industry expertise and acumen, provide invaluable insight and support to the companies throughout the six-month program. The program culminates in a final pitch session with investors and community stakeholders. Companies and mentors are carefully matched based on their skillsets, experience, and interests. The selected SMEs for the 2024 IRP include Ascinta Technologies Inc., CNANO, D2Type Health, EyeCareX Technologies, FMRK Diagnostic Technologies Inc., Focal Lines Technologies, mlHealth 360, NovaSense Technology Ltd., Response Biomedical, Salyx Medical Inc., and Tickit Health. The EIR mentors include Nancy Harrison, Malcolm Kendall, Norma Sebestyen, Jason Robertson, Brenda Irwin, Lu Han, David Helliwell, Allison Gaw, and Sam Mercer. The program, which runs from October to March, offers personalized coaching, educational sessions, goal setting, peer-to-peer feedback, networking opportunities, and group meetings. Applications for the 2025 program will open in spring 2024. The program is supported in part by funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). Life Sciences BC is a non-profit industry association that advocates for and represents British Columbia's thriving life sciences community. Through various initiatives, the organization fosters collaboration, drives economic development, and facilitates connections, investments, and global partnerships within the sector. Implications of Life Sciences BC's Investor Readiness Program for New Businesses

The Investor Readiness Program (IRP) by Life Sciences BC is a game-changer for new businesses in the life sciences sector. It provides small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a unique opportunity to become investor-ready under the guidance of experienced entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIRs).

Building Investor-Ready Businesses

The program's focus on matching SMEs with EIRs based on skillsets, experience, and interests ensures a tailored approach to mentorship. This could significantly enhance the potential of these businesses to attract investment, a critical aspect of growth and expansion for any new venture.
Creating a Thriving Ecosystem
The IRP not only benefits the participating companies but also contributes to the overall vibrancy of British Columbia's life sciences community. By fostering collaboration, driving economic development, and facilitating connections, investments, and global partnerships, Life Sciences BC is creating a thriving ecosystem that could attract even more new businesses to the sector.
