Apple Sees Growth in Global PC Market Share
According to data from IDC, Apple experienced a sharp increase in global PC market share in the second quarter of 2023, bouncing back from weak delivery numbers in the previous period. This growth is notable as the PC market as a whole has been weakening. Apple's year-over-year growth was 10.3%, making it the only PC manufacturer among the top five globally to achieve positive results. The company now holds 8.6% of the global market share, with 5.3 million Mac units shipped in the second quarter alone.
Decline in PC Shipments

On the other hand, Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Acer, the other top four PC manufacturers, all experienced declines in growth, according to IDC. Acer had the most significant decline of 19.2% year-over-year, while HP managed to maintain a relatively flat shipment rate, with 13.4 million units shipped in the second quarter of 2023 compared to 13.5 million units in the same period last year.
